On the peaceful island of Shikoku, the smallest of Japan’s main islands, you will have access to nature and traditions that have been preserved for centuries. Japanese people come from all over the country to Tokushima to admire its folk dance shows and visit the first of the 88 Buddhist  temples on the Shikoku Pilgrimage trail or its traditional puppet theatre. In the Tokushima Province, the village of Mima carefully conserves the traditional architecture of its merchants’ houses and continues to keep its local indigo dye craftsmanship alive.
