The saying goes that “if you come to Chausey once you’ll come back 300 times! “. The Chausey Islands are each more beautiful than the next and are worth the journey. The Chausey Islands consist of 365 islets at low tide and 52 at high tide, with Grande-Île, the largest, lying some 17 kilometres from Granville. To the south-east of the island, you can admire the lighthouse soaring to its peak at 39 metres above the sea, but also the island’s semaphore, built in 1867 at the top of Gros-Mont hill. On these Ponant Islands the white sandy beaches and the small coves visible at low tide offer an idyllic setting for a moment of timeless relaxation. The natural heritage of Chausey is a protected area, notably belonging to the coastal protection agency.
