Expedition programmes include activities such as zodiac outings and landings (sometimes with "wet landings"), moderate walks to more active hikes, all accompanied by your expedition team of naturalist guides.
Ports of call, visited sites, outings and landings will depend on weather conditions, winds and the state of the sea. These can force a change of plans at any time. The Captain and the Expedition Leader may at any time cancel or stop any activity, or even modify the itinerary. The final itinerary will be confirmed by the Captain, who will take into account the touristic quality of the sites and above all, the safety of the passengers. His decision will be based on advice from experts and authorities.
Travelling to isolated regions is an exhilarating experience. In remote areas, please remember that you are far from modern hospitals with full medical facilities, thus evacuation is extremely expensive. The breathtaking beauty of Albany's rugged coastline creates a fitting backdrop to a dramatic whaling, convict and settler history and a sensational south coast adventure. This charming city marks the spot where the first European settlers set foot in Western Australia, and much of their legacy remains today. You can also follow the extraordinary stories of the first convoy of ANZACs departed for the battlegrounds of the First World War in the National ANZAC Centre. You'll also find some of the town's biggest tales in the Historic Whaling Station, the only museum of its kind to be housed in a former whaling station. The industry met its end in 1978, creating a safe port of call for migrating humpback, southern right and blue whales.

Esperance was named for the French frigate Espérance captained by Huon de Kermadec on Antoine Bruni d'Entrecasteaux's 1791 expedition to find the lost ships of Jean-François de La Pérouse. It is located 720 kilometres east-southeast of Perth and has a population of just over 12,000. Regarded as a beach and nature-lover's dream, Esperance is blessed with squeaky-clean beaches, turquoise waters, untouched islands and colour-filled wildflower country. Among its most famous beauty spots is Australia's whitest beach, Lucky Bay - set against a stunning seascape of 110 islands of the Recherche Archipelago.

The Archipelago of the Recherche, known locally as the Bay of Isles, is a group of 105 islands, and over 1500 rocky outcrops off the southern coast of Esperance, Western Australia. The islands stretch 230 kilometres from East to West and to 50 kilometres offshore. The area is a biodiversity hotspot partly due to the influence of the Leeuwin current which supports a rich diversity of marine life. Breeding colonies of Australian fur seal, New Zealand fur seal and the Australian Sea Lion have been recorded on various islands including Cooper and Salisbury Islands. The archipelago has also been identified by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area (IBA) supporting over 1% of the world populations of flesh-footed shearwaters, along with breeding colonies of the endemic Recherche Cape Barren goose, sooty oystercatchers and fairy terns. If time and weather permit, you will have the opportunity to explore the coastal environments and view the wildlife from our fleet of zodiacs.

With a population of approximately 14,500 and situated on Boston Bay – one of the largest protected natural harbours in the world – Port Lincoln is the seafood and aquaculture capital of Australia. Home to the country’s largest commercial fishing fleet, renowned for its southern bluefin tuna, King George whiting, Western King prawns and Southern Rock lobster. The pristine waters of the Eyre peninsula are home to thriving aquaculture industries for Kingfish, Mussels and the famous Coffin Bay oysters. After a free morning and checking out of your room, you will depart for a one-hour panoramic tour of Perth.
You will pass through the exclusive suburbs of Mosman Park, Peppermint Grove and Dalkeith. You will also see the Royal Perth Yacht Club, Matilda Bay and the Old Swan Brewery.
You will then stop at the charming Kings Park for some photos and enjoy some free time. Featuring just under 1,000 acres of bushland and a botanical garden, the park overlooks Perth's CBD and the Swan River. Relax among the cultivated gardens of unique native plants, pay your respects at the State War Memorial, or simply be inspired by the breathtaking city views.

Discover the history of Tasmania, island state, and its main city Hobart once a penal colony for British and Irish convicts. This programme will be a perfect prelude to your cruise.
Day 1 – Hobart
After disembarkation procedures are completed, you will be greeted at the port by our local representative before boarding your vehicle for a scenic tour of Hobart.
A panoramic drive will reveal why Hobart is known as the "Jewel of the South." From the hotel, proceed past the historic warehouse complex of Salamanca Place, which now houses atmospheric shops and restaurants. Also view the elegant 19th-century mansions and the quaint cottages of Battery Point. Travel past Australia's oldest brewery, Cascade Brewery, established in 1824 and pass by Government House.
You will visit the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAGT). It is the second oldest museum in Australia and has its origins in the collections of the country's oldest scientific society, the Royal Society of Tasmania, which was established in 1843. You will discover more about Tasmania's history and explore the nearly 2000 square metres of public and exhibition spaces containing a rich blend of permanent collections temporary exhibitions and special displays.
You will then take a short drive across the oldest bridge in the city to the historic village of Richmond. Enjoy some free time and discover the town’s fine Georgian architecture, and its wonderful galleries, cafes, and boutiques.
You will take a scenic drive to the Puddleduck Winery, where a two-course lunch will be served consisting of a Puddleduck vineyard platter showcasing Tasmanian produce and including a wine tasting experience.
You will then be transferred to the hotel MACq 01 5*.
