Marianne Croux, a Franco-Belgian soprano trained at the Paris Conservatoire, is a rising opera star. Consecrated Révélation lyrique by ADAMI in 2017, she has joined the Académie de l'Opéra National de Paris until 2019. Winner of several prizes at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2018, she was honoured in Belgium as an Officier du mérite wallon. Marianne also shone at the Académie d'Aix-en- Provence in 2021 and at the Belvedere Hans Gabor Competition in 2022.
Renowned for her performances at the Opéra National de Paris, she has appeared in Stravinsky's Noces, Ravel's L'enfant et les Sortilèges, Strauss's Elektra, Bernstein's Quiet Place and Glück's Iphigénie en Tauride . Her debut at the Rome Opera as Zerlina and her Micaëla at the Capitole were acclaimed. Passionate about contemporary music, she has premiered works by Betsy Jolas, Brice Pauset, Gilbert Amy and inspired Damien Lehman for the role of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel. She recently excelled at the Dijon opera house as the governess in Britten's The Turn of the Screw and at the Massy opera house in Dialogues des Carmélites. Highly anticipated in this new role, Marianne will sing her first Nedda in Pagliacci at the Toulon opera next June.
Her discography includes the world premiere recording of Rita Strohl's Douze chants de Bilitis with pianist Anne Bertin-Hugault and Poulenc's Stabat Mater conducted by Mathieu Romano with Aedes and the Siècles orchestra.
