Jérôme Ducros

Born in 1974, Jérôme Ducros studied piano with François Thinat, then Gérard Frémy and Cyril Huvé at the CNSM in Paris, and attended masterclasses with Léon Fleisher, Gyorgy Sebök, Davitt Moroney, and Christian Zacharias. Winner of the International Umberto Micheli Piano Competition organized by Maurizio Pollini at La Scala in Milan, he has performed as a soloist in numerous venues worldwide.

A highly sought-after chamber musician, he regularly partners in concert and on recordings with Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, Philippe Jaroussky, Jérôme Pernoo, among others. He has performed on major stages such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Berlin Philharmonie, and Vienna’s Musikverein and Konzerthaus.

Once little known, Jérôme Ducros’s compositions have gradually gained recognition, especially since the publication of his Trio for Two Cellos and Piano in 2006 (Billaudot, Gautier Capuçon collection). His works are now regularly performed by many musicians. He has also contributed theoretical work on musical language and its evolution, notably in a 2012 lecture at the Collège de France invited by Karol Beffa.

Jérôme Ducros is also the author of numerous arrangements for piano, chamber music, and orchestra, commissioned, performed, or recorded by Gautier Capuçon, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orchestre National de France. His first orchestral arrangements album, Émotions with Gautier Capuçon (Erato-Warner Classics), received a Gold Record in 2021.

Among his extensive discography of over twenty albums are Émotions with Gautier Capuçon and the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, conducted by Adrien Perruchon (Erato, 2020), and Destination Paris with Gautier Capuçon and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, conducted by Lionel Bringuier (Erato, 2023).
