The capital city of Northern Ireland is located on the very tip of Belfast Lough, in the north-east of the Emerald Isle. Along the waterfront, the building shaped like a fragmented liner is non other than the Titanic Belfast, a homage to the famous transatlantic liner, with full-scale reconstructions making for an insightful experience of the Belle Epoque. In the historical centre, you’ll also travel back in time when you see the majestic Edwardian columns of the City Hall, and the imposing neo-gothic towers of Queen’s University for example. The carved wooden façades of the Victorian pubs will certainly entice you in for a pint of beer or chilled cider.

Located to the south-east of London, Portsmouth is one of the three most important military ports in England. This maritime tradition takes shape in the Historic Dockyard, the home of Portsmouth's arsenal, where emblematic ships are to be found, including HMS Victory, captained by Admiral Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar. The home town of Charles Dickens, and the adopted home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the celebrated adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Portsmouth is not short of attractions with its parks, sea fronts and city walls. The Spinnaker Tower, taking the form of a great sail and soaring from 170 metres into the air, is one of the highest monuments in the United Kingdom and offers impressive views of the city.
Spectacular Giants Causeway

Departing from the pier in Belfast, you will travel inland through the Northern Counties of Down and Antrim passing en route Ballymoney and Ballymena, to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Giants’ Causeway.
For centuries, visitors have marvelled at its majesty and mystery. The unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of the Atlantic storms and the rugged symmetry of the columns never fail to intrigue and inspire. To stroll the Giants Causeway is to voyage back in time. Your imagination will travel along stepping stones that lead to either the creative turbulence of a bygone volcanic age or into the myths and legends of the past.
The summer of 2012 marked the opening of the new Visitor Centre at the Giant’s Causeway. This interpretative centre allows you to decide for yourself which explanation of how the causeway’s 40,000 basalt stones were formed is most likely (or simply most interesting!). Stories about the area’s rich mythology, history, geology, flora and fauna will paint the Causeway in your mind’s eye before you make your way to the stones themselves, by boarding the “Causeway Coaster” minibus, should you prefer not to walk.
Following your visit, you will drive back to Belfast and your ship.

Panoramic Belfast & Titanic

Belfast is a city of industry and elegance with a rich and varied past. Its origins go back to an ancient fort controlling the ford across the River Lagan which flows through the city. The panoramic tour of the city will introduce you to the many varied features of Northern Ireland's largest city. Built with 19th century industrial money, many fine buildings from this era grace the city still and are reminders of its prosperous past. You will drive past the Grand Opera House and the Albert Memorial before passing Queen's University, the Botanic Gardens and Belfast City Hall - an impressive building with a 91 metres (300 feet) long façade of Portland stone, which dominates Donegall Square. A stop here will allow you photograph what is perhaps the most noteworthy of the statues in the grounds. It is the marble figure of “Thane” on a granite pedestal, sculpted by Sir Thomas Brock and commemorating the sinking in 1912 of the R.M.S. Titanic, the ill-fated Belfast built liner.
Next, you will visit the newly constructed Titanic Belfast. Opened in April 2012, the new signature building telling the story of Titanic contains nine galleries containing a variety of interpretative materials and media including film and video, audio, archival materials and scale models; a high point will be a ride through the Titanic under construction. The adventure begins the moment you walk through the door and into the building's giant atrium surrounded by the four-high impact “hull” shaped sections which house the experience. As you wander up through Titanic Belfast, you will experience a thrilling ride through the reconstruction of the shipyards and the Titanic under construction. The stories of passengers, crew and the heroes of the day will be told in an exciting and modern way. At the conclusion, you can visit the wreck at her resting place on the floor of the North Atlantic.
After the visit, you will re-board your coach for the return drive to the port and your awaiting ship.

A day along the Antrim Coast

Depart from the port of Belfast and drive along Northern Ireland's Antrim Coast. Some of the world's most unspoilt scenery is to be found in the county of Antrim. From the rugged cliffs of the coast to the Glens, here is the best of what Northern Ireland has to offer.
Travel via the Coast Road to reveal different seascapes, towering cliffs, white sandy beaches, tranquil glens and lush forest parks, as you make your way northwards. From the vantage point at Fair Head and Murlough Bay you can enjoy views of Scotland's Mull of Kintyre, as well as the wild and mysterious island of Rathlin just seven miles (11 km) off the coast.
Stop to enjoy tea/coffee and scones at a local hotel along the coastal route before continuing to photograph Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge. Spanning a chasm some eighty feet (25 m) deep, its construction once consisted of a single rope handrail and widely spaced slats, which the fishermen would traverse across with salmon caught off the island.
Continue to a local establishment to enjoy lunch before venturing to the UNESCO World Heritage Giants' Causeway site. The story of the Beatles

Liverpool and The Beatles – the two go hand in hand. This panoramic tour shows you some of the locations around the city that are associated with “The Fab Four”.
Departing Liverpool docks, you first head into the city centre to begin your panoramic tour of the city. While the tour focuses on The Beatles and their lives in the city, we will also pass two magnificent cathedrals, leafy parks and drive along the impressive waterfront that comprises Liverpool's World Heritage Site.
Continuing your panoramic tour, pass many of the sites and locations associated with the Beatles' childhoods and the early years of the band. Places that will be passed include: Penny Lane, St Peters Woolton, The Art College and the Liverpool Institute, The Casbah, The Empire Theatre, Arnold Grove, Dovedale School & Quarry Bank School (subject to traffic conditions and time available).
Re-boarding the coach, head back to the city centre, arriving at Mathew Street, where you take a short walking tour to view the Cavern Club and Wall of Fame.

Cathedrals of Liverpool

During this tour you will visit the two symbols of the Christian faith in the two Cathedrals which face each other at opposite ends of the aptly-named Hope Street. Both are dedicated to Christ: the Anglican to Christ and the Blessed Virgin and the Catholic to Christ the King.
First visit the Metropolitan Cathedral which is the seat of the Archbishop of Liverpool and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. The Grade II Metropolitan Cathedral is one of Liverpool's many listed buildings. It is sometimes known locally as “Paddy's Wigwam” or the “Mersey Funnel”. The cathedral's architect was Englishman Frederick Gibberd, the winner of a worldwide design competition. Construction began in 1962, and took five years. Earlier designs for a Catholic cathedral in Liverpool had been proposed in 1853, 1933, and 1953, but none were completed.
Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral is the Church of England cathedral of the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool and is the seat of the Bishop of Liverpool. Visit inside the vast Anglican cathedral, completed in 1978 after some 75 years of building. Built on an overwhelming scale, the red sandstone structure is the largest Anglican cathedral in Britain and the fifth largest in the world. The Cathedral abounds in superlatives : highest Gothic arches, largest organ, heaviest ring of bells but the grandeur is balanced by a great sense of welcome and peace.

Scenic southern Isle of Man panorama

Departing from Douglas, drive through the south-east of the island, passing over the Fairy Bridge. It is considered bad luck to pass over this bridge without acknowledging the fairies known to be there.
Arrive at the town of Castletown that traces its origins back to 1090 and holds true as one of the oldest towns in the British Isles. Its narrow streets and small fishing cottages prove this ancient past at every corner. Here, enjoy some free time to explore this delightful town, perhaps visiting the fabulous Castle Rushen (not included), which is one of the finest examples in the British Isles of a medieval castle.
Departing Castletown, head for the Southern tip of the island and the pretty bay at Port Erin, before travelling along the western coast of the island to Peel. Here you will have some free time to enjoy this pretty town, with its lovely harbour and beach front promenade, overlooked by its fine castle and many quaint narrow streets, and which claims to be one of the world's smallest cities.
From Peel, we travel island to Tynwald, the hill that is the location of world's oldest democratic parliament, which has run continuously since 979, before passing through the beautiful central valley area of the Island known as the Plains of Heaven, to Douglas and the ship.

Historic Manx

A tour along the south-east coast of Isle of Man, taking you to the original capital of the island, Castletown. You will discover the beautiful Rushen Castle and its important role in the history of the Isle of Man, before enjoying the great pleasure of travelling on a traditional old train in this tour through the lush countryside of the Isle of Man.
Departing from Douglas, drive through the south-east of the island, passing over the Fairy Bridge, where it is considered bad luck to pass over the bridge without acknowledging the fairies known to be there. Arrive at the town of Castletown that traces its origins back to 1090 and holds true as one of the oldest towns in the British Isles. Its narrow streets and small fishing cottages prove this ancient past at every corner. Before enjoying some free time to explore this delightful town, visit the fabulous Castle Rushen, which is the best example in the British Isles of a medieval castle. The exact date when it was built is unknown, though is believed to be around 1200. The Castle served as the residence of the last Norse King of Man, who died in 1266. Part of the castle was destroyed in a siege by Robert the Bruce in 1313 but was rebuilt by Sir William de Montacute in around 1344. In the clock room, formerly used as the castle chapel, lies a clock presented by Queen Elizabeth I in 1597, while she held the island in trust pending a dispute. The clock is of simple construction with only one hand, but still keeps very good time.
Following your free time, arrive at Castletown's train station and board your train on the 125 years old Victorian railway. The railway still uses much of the original rolling stock with passengers travelling in carriages pulled by the original engines that first worked the line in the 1890's. From the train, enjoy very impressive views over the inland countryside. Arriving at Douglas train station, transfer by coach back to the quayside and your ship.

The Great Laxey Wheel

A tour that visits the famous Manx Laxey wheel and travels along part the Tourist Trophy course trip, offering stunning view over the inland landscapes.
From the pier, travel northwards to Laxey, enjoying the beautiful views. Laxey is a charming Manx village, filling a narrow valley. Then travel uphill to Laxey's pride: the Great Laxey Wheel, smartly painted in red and white.
Named “Lady Isabella” after the wife of the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man, and designed by the Victorian engineer Robert Casement, the wheel was built in 1854 to pump water from the “Great Laxey Mines” industrial complex. The impressive structure found immediate popularity and has remained one of the Island's most dramatic tourist attractions for over 150 years.
With a diameter of over 72 feet (22 m), it is said to be the largest working waterwheel in the world. Your visit includes a climb to the top of the wheel for a fine view over the valley.
Next, board the coach again for a panoramic tour along part of the original course of the world-famous Manx “TT” (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle races. The scenery becomes wild and remote as you pass the island's highest peak, Snaefell.

Panoramic Cork & Old Jameson distillery

Depart from the pier and travel to the city of Cork. A short panoramic tour will introduce you to the city situated on the River Lee. The Lee flows through the city in two main channels, so that you find yourself constantly crossing bridges. Today, Cork City has become the shopping and commercial capital of the south. It is a University City with a unique character and a city of Jazz, Film, Opera and Theatre. You will see the spires of St Fin Barre's Cathedral, The Old Courthouse, City Hall and the renowned Bells of Shandon.
Leaving the city, travel eastwards to the village of Midleton, the town from which the famous rare Irish whiskey gets its name. A visit to the Old Jameson Distillery will take you right to the heart of the cherished whiskey making tradition. You are invited to join a 60-minute guided tour of this beautifully restored 18th century self-contained industrial complex, unique in Britain and Ireland. Delight in the fully operational water wheel and be amazed by the copper pot still of 32,000 gallons which is the largest in the world. An audio-visual presentation breathes life into the Irish Whiskey legend. After the history comes the tasting, where you are invited to relax in the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub and sample Ireland's finest whiskey. Afterwards visit the craft shop, or coffee shop at Jameson Heritage Centre where you can lose yourself in the charm of another age.

Cork city walk

Cork, a city of steeples and bridges, was made for walking. From many vantage points, it can all be seen at a glance, as it is a compact city in size yet diverse in its range of activities. Its quays that stretch all the way into the heart of the city welcome ships from the seven seas. The city centre presents streets lined with a shops, arcades and boutiques. The city is mildly cosmopolitan yet engagingly Irish. It is pleasantly spread out amongst the hills that rise up on both sides of the river Lee. The city centre is actually a small island between two channels of the river and a plethora of bridges.
From the pier, board your coach for a 30minutes drive to Cork city. Upon arrival, commence your guided walk of Cork city through quaint streets filled with history.
Next, stop to visit St. Fin Barre's Cathedral. Designed and built by William Burgess, the city has been given a church full of exuberance. Its style is all things romantic, ornate and possibly even exotic. There is time for a visit and some photos. Continue through the streets into the heart of the Huguenot area, taking note of the Huguenot Cemetery on Careys Lane.
Walking up South Mall and onto Princess Street, walk through the English Market. This market is over 200 years old and is one of Cork's greatest assets; it's an indoor food market with an array of butchers selling many of the traditional Cork foods, fruit and vegetable shops selling at discount prices, fishmongers, Italian, French and Irish cheese stalls, fresh bread stands and more. Early in the morning, chefs from various restaurants and cafes drop in to buy their supplies. During the day, many residents of the city pass through to do their own shopping. It is also popular with visitors as it is a unique shopping experience that should not to be missed.
After some free time, reboard your coach for the return drive to your ship.

Meet your local guide who will take you on a 1-hour walk around the island.
The stunning Tresco Abbey Gardens were created nearly 170 years ago by Augustus Smith around the remains of the 12th century Saint Nicholas Priory. Succeeding generations of the Dorrien-Smith family and their gardeners have collected one of the most fascinating and varied botanical collection of plants from all around the world. These include hotter, drier terraces at the top to suit Australian and South African plants, whilst the bottom ones provide the humidity that favours flora from New Zealand and South America.
Fringing the lush grid of paths criss-crossing the gardens are cacti, date-palms and rarities like lobster claw and shocking-pink drifts of pelargonium. The Valhalla museum reminds the visitor of the shipwrecks that surround the islands and the storms that caused many of them.

Garrison walking tour

Your walking tour on the lovely Island of St Mary’s, the largest of the Isles of Scilly, will take you to The Garrison. This walk, offering lovely views of the other islands, was voted the best coastal walk in Britain in a “Times” survey in 2010.
Depart the quayside in Hugh Town towards the Garrison promontory. The Garrison is deemed to be of national importance “for the complexity and survival of its fortifications, representing successive periods of raiding, hostility and war.” The Garrison dates back to Elizabethan times and goes on through the Civil War years (it became the last Royalist stronghold), and the Spanish Wars of the 18th century.
You will enter The Garrison through the old garrison gateway, and follow the coastal footpath. Your guide will point out the various islands surrounding the Garrison as well as giving you some historical background while passing the various batteries.
Towards the end of the walk, climb the hill up to Star Castle so that you may enjoy sweeping panoramas of the islands. Star Castle is now a hotel, but it was built as an impregnable fortress back in 1593 and gets its name from the shape of its eight-sided central keep, curtain wall and dry moat. Here you will have some refreshments before returning to your ship.

Meet at Dublin airport in the Arrival hall. Look for PONANT sign. You will be greeted by our local representative off the flight selected by PONANT.
Your tour of the city will continue passing the Georgian squares of Merrion and Fitzwilliam, National Gallery of Ireland, Government Buildings and St. Stephen’s Green. You will pass Dublin Castle, City Hall and Christchurch Cathedral en route to have a photostop at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Founded in 1190, St. Patrick’s is perhaps best known for its association with Jonathan Swift, who was Dean here from 1713 to 1745. Time will be permitted to photograph the exterior of the building.
Enjoy some time at leisure in Temple Bar, famous for its typical Irish atmosphere.
Then, you will have lunch in a local Irish pub, with traditional live music.
After lunch, you will stop at the Trinity College, the oldest university in Dublin, founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth 1. The highlight of this visit will be the famous Book of Kells. a hand illuminated manuscript of the Gospels, more than 1200 years old, is the fruit of the talent of the monks of Kells.
You will continue to the customs house, located on the north bank River Liffey. It was completed in 1791 and designed by architect James Gandon. You will than cross the Liffey River to discover the buildings on the South Shore. You will pass by the Bank of Ireland which, until its abolition by the Act of Union of 1800, housed the Parliament of Ireland.
You will then be transferred to the pier to embark on your ship.

The Isle of Man has a long history of motorcycle racing and each year the world’s finest road racers pit their skills against the 37 ¾ miles of public roads that form the legendary Tourist Trophy Circuit. The TT races began in 1907 and they have long been considered one of the “greatest motorcycle sporting events of the world”, attracting fans of the sport from all over the world.
With your knowledgeable driver, you will experience the course that the world’s most daring riders experience each year. Departing from Douglas, travel through some of the very towns and villages, around tight twisty roads, over the renowned Ballaugh Bridge before riding over the spectacular Mountain section. Enjoy a short stop at the Creg-by-baa, one of the most spectacular landmarks on the world-famous mountain course, before returning to Douglas.

Spectacular Giants Causeway

Departing from the pier in Belfast, you will travel inland through the Northern Counties of Down and Antrim passing en route Ballymoney and Ballymena, to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Giants’ Causeway.
For centuries, visitors have marvelled at its majesty and mystery. The unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of the Atlantic storms and the rugged symmetry of the columns never fail to intrigue and inspire. To stroll the Giants Causeway is to voyage back in time. Your imagination will travel along stepping stones that lead to either the creative turbulence of a bygone volcanic age or into the myths and legends of the past.
The summer of 2012 marked the opening of the new Visitor Centre at the Giant’s Causeway. This interpretative centre allows you to decide for yourself which explanation of how the causeway’s 40,000 basalt stones were formed is most likely (or simply most interesting!). Stories about the area’s rich mythology, history, geology, flora and fauna will paint the Causeway in your mind’s eye before you make your way to the stones themselves, by boarding the “Causeway Coaster” minibus, should you prefer not to walk.
Following your visit, you will drive back to Belfast and your ship.

Panoramic Belfast & Titanic

Belfast is a city of industry and elegance with a rich and varied past. Its origins go back to an ancient fort controlling the ford across the River Lagan which flows through the city. The panoramic tour of the city will introduce you to the many varied features of Northern Ireland's largest city. Built with 19th century industrial money, many fine buildings from this era grace the city still and are reminders of its prosperous past. You will drive past the Grand Opera House and the Albert Memorial before passing Queen's University, the Botanic Gardens and Belfast City Hall - an impressive building with a 91 metres (300 feet) long façade of Portland stone, which dominates Donegall Square. A stop here will allow you photograph what is perhaps the most noteworthy of the statues in the grounds. It is the marble figure of “Thane” on a granite pedestal, sculpted by Sir Thomas Brock and commemorating the sinking in 1912 of the R.M.S. Titanic, the ill-fated Belfast built liner.
Next, you will visit the newly constructed Titanic Belfast. Opened in April 2012, the new signature building telling the story of Titanic contains nine galleries containing a variety of interpretative materials and media including film and video, audio, archival materials and scale models; a high point will be a ride through the Titanic under construction. The adventure begins the moment you walk through the door and into the building's giant atrium surrounded by the four-high impact “hull” shaped sections which house the experience. As you wander up through Titanic Belfast, you will experience a thrilling ride through the reconstruction of the shipyards and the Titanic under construction. The stories of passengers, crew and the heroes of the day will be told in an exciting and modern way. At the conclusion, you can visit the wreck at her resting place on the floor of the North Atlantic.

A day along the Antrim Coast

Depart from the port of Belfast and drive along Northern Ireland's Antrim Coast. Some of the world's most unspoilt scenery is to be found in the county of Antrim. From the rugged cliffs of the coast to the Glens, here is the best of what Northern Ireland has to offer.
Travel via the Coast Road to reveal different seascapes, towering cliffs, white sandy beaches, tranquil glens and lush forest parks, as you make your way northwards. From the vantage point at Fair Head and Murlough Bay you can enjoy views of Scotland's Mull of Kintyre, as well as the wild and mysterious island of Rathlin just seven miles (11 km) off the coast.
Stop to enjoy tea/coffee and scones at a local hotel along the coastal route before continuing to photograph Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge. Spanning a chasm some eighty feet (25 m) deep, its construction once consisted of a single rope handrail and widely spaced slats, which the fishermen would traverse across with salmon caught off the island.
Continue to a local establishment to enjoy lunch before venturing to the UNESCO World Heritage Giants' Causeway site. Liverpool and The Beatles – the two go hand in hand. This panoramic tour shows you some of the locations around the city that are associated with “The Fab Four”.
Departing Liverpool docks, you first head into the city centre to begin your panoramic tour of the city. While the tour focuses on The Beatles and their lives in the city, we will also pass two magnificent cathedrals, leafy parks and drive along the impressive waterfront that comprises Liverpool's World Heritage Site.
Continuing your panoramic tour, pass many of the sites and locations associated with the Beatles' childhoods and the early years of the band. Cathedrals of Liverpool

During this tour you will visit the two symbols of the Christian faith in the two Cathedrals which face each other at opposite ends of the aptly-named Hope Street. Both are dedicated to Christ: the Anglican to Christ and the Blessed Virgin and the Catholic to Christ the King.
First visit the Metropolitan Cathedral which is the seat of the Archbishop of Liverpool and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. The Grade II Metropolitan Cathedral is one of Liverpool's many listed buildings. It is sometimes known locally as “Paddy's Wigwam” or the “Mersey Funnel”. The cathedral's architect was Englishman Frederick Gibberd, the winner of a worldwide design competition. Construction began in 1962, and took five years. Earlier designs for a Catholic cathedral in Liverpool had been proposed in 1853, 1933, and 1953, but none were completed.
Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral is the Church of England cathedral of the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool and is the seat of the Bishop of Liverpool. Visit inside the vast Anglican cathedral, completed in 1978 after some 75 years of building. Built on an overwhelming scale, the red sandstone structure is the largest Anglican cathedral in Britain and the fifth largest in the world. The Cathedral abounds in superlatives : highest Gothic arches, largest organ, heaviest ring of bells but the grandeur is balanced by a great sense of welcome and peace.

From the pier, start your tour through the fabulous scenery of the Isle of Man, that offers stunning views over the coastal and inland landscapes.
Departing from Douglas, drive through the south-east of the island, passing over the Fairy Bridge. It is considered bad luck to pass over this bridge without acknowledging the fairies known to be there.
Arrive at the town of Castletown that traces its origins back to 1090 and holds true as one of the oldest towns in the British Isles. Its narrow streets and small fishing cottages prove this ancient past at every corner. Here, enjoy some free time to explore this delightful town, perhaps visiting the fabulous Castle Rushen (not included), which is one of the finest examples in the British Isles of a medieval castle.
Departing Castletown, head for the Southern tip of the island and the pretty bay at Port Erin, before travelling along the western coast of the island to Peel. Here you will have some free time to enjoy this pretty town, with its lovely harbour and beach front promenade, overlooked by its fine castle and many quaint narrow streets, and which claims to be one of the world's smallest cities.
From Peel, we travel island to Tynwald, the hill that is the location of world's oldest democratic parliament, which has run continuously since 979, before passing through the beautiful central valley area of the Island known as the Plains of Heaven, to Douglas and the ship.

Historic Manx

A tour along the south-east coast of Isle of Man, taking you to the original capital of the island, Castletown. You will discover the beautiful Rushen Castle and its important role in the history of the Isle of Man, before enjoying the great pleasure of travelling on a traditional old train in this tour through the lush countryside of the Isle of Man.

The exact date when it was built is unknown, though is believed to be around 1200. The Castle served as the residence of the last Norse King of Man, who died in 1266. Part of the castle was destroyed in a siege by Robert the Bruce in 1313 but was rebuilt by Sir William de Montacute in around 1344. In the clock room, formerly used as the castle chapel, lies a clock presented by Queen Elizabeth I in 1597, while she held the island in trust pending a dispute. The clock is of simple construction with only one hand, but still keeps very good time.
Following your free time, arrive at Castletown's train station and board your train on the 125 years old Victorian railway. The railway still uses much of the original rolling stock with passengers travelling in carriages pulled by the original engines that first worked the line in the 1890's. From the train, enjoy very impressive views over the inland countryside. Arriving at Douglas train station, transfer by coach back to the quayside and your ship.

The Great Laxey Wheel

A tour that visits the famous Manx Laxey wheel and travels along part the Tourist Trophy course trip, offering stunning view over the inland landscapes.
From the pier, travel northwards to Laxey, enjoying the beautiful views. Laxey is a charming Manx village, filling a narrow valley. Then travel uphill to Laxey's pride: the Great Laxey Wheel, smartly painted in red and white.
Named “Lady Isabella” after the wife of the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man, and designed by the Victorian engineer Robert Casement, the wheel was built in 1854 to pump water from the “Great Laxey Mines” industrial complex. The impressive structure found immediate popularity and has remained one of the Island's most dramatic tourist attractions for over 150 years.
With a diameter of over 72 feet (22 m), it is said to be the largest working waterwheel in the world. Your visit includes a climb to the top of the wheel for a fine view over the valley.
Next, board the coach again for a panoramic tour along part of the original course of the world-famous Manx “TT” (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle races. The scenery becomes wild and remote as you pass the island's highest peak, Snaefell.
Then, travel back through the scenic centre of the island to Douglas and your ship.

Panoramic Cork & Old Jameson distillery

Depart from the pier and travel to the city of Cork. A short panoramic tour will introduce you to the city situated on the River Lee. The Lee flows through the city in two main channels, so that you find yourself constantly crossing bridges. Today, Cork City has become the shopping and commercial capital of the south. It is a University City with a unique character and a city of Jazz, Film, Opera and Theatre. You will see the spires of St Fin Barre's Cathedral, The Old Courthouse, City Hall and the renowned Bells of Shandon.
Leaving the city, travel eastwards to the village of Midleton, the town from which the famous rare Irish whiskey gets its name. A visit to the Old Jameson Distillery will take you right to the heart of the cherished whiskey making tradition. You are invited to join a 60-minute guided tour of this beautifully restored 18th century self-contained industrial complex, unique in Britain and Ireland. Delight in the fully operational water wheel and be amazed by the copper pot still of 32,000 gallons which is the largest in the world. An audio-visual presentation breathes life into the Irish Whiskey legend. After the history comes the tasting, where you are invited to relax in the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub and sample Ireland's finest whiskey. Afterwards visit the craft shop, or coffee shop at Jameson Heritage Centre where you can lose yourself in the charm of another age.

Cork city walk

Cork, a city of steeples and bridges, was made for walking. From many vantage points, it can all be seen at a glance, as it is a compact city in size yet diverse in its range of activities. Its quays that stretch all the way into the heart of the city welcome ships from the seven seas. The city centre presents streets lined with a shops, arcades and boutiques. The city is mildly cosmopolitan yet engagingly Irish. It is pleasantly spread out amongst the hills that rise up on both sides of the river Lee. The city centre is actually a small island between two channels of the river and a plethora of bridges.
From the pier, board your coach for a 30minutes drive to Cork city. Upon arrival, commence your guided walk of Cork city through quaint streets filled with history.
Next, stop to visit St. Fin Barre's Cathedral. Designed and built by William Burgess, the city has been given a church full of exuberance. Its style is all things romantic, ornate and possibly even exotic. There is time for a visit and some photos. Continue through the streets into the heart of the Huguenot area, taking note of the Huguenot Cemetery on Careys Lane.
Walking up South Mall and onto Princess Street, walk through the English Market. This market is over 200 years old and is one of Cork's greatest assets; it's an indoor food market with an array of butchers selling many of the traditional Cork foods, fruit and vegetable shops selling at discount prices, fishmongers, Italian, French and Irish cheese stalls, fresh bread stands and more. Early in the morning, chefs from various restaurants and cafes drop in to buy their supplies. During the day, many residents of the city pass through to do their own shopping. It is also popular with visitors as it is a unique shopping experience that should not to be missed.
After some free time, reboard your coach for the return drive to your ship.

Panoramic Cork & Blarney castle

The village lies in the protective shadow of the historic ruins of Blarney Castle, which was built in two sections with a massive oblong keep and typical Irish battlements. Enjoy a visit to the castle -"to kiss the famous Blarney stone" which, legend tells us, imparts the gift of eloquence to all those who kiss it.
Blarney is also home to Blarney Woollen Mills, which dates back to 1823, and is now one of the finest craft and gift centres in Ireland. Enjoy an Irish coffee and browse through the wide range of Irish clothing, crystal, linen and handicrafts.
Next, drive to Cork city. A short panoramic tour will introduce you to the city situated on the River Lee. In this walking tour, visit the lovely island of Tresco and tour one of the most remarkable gardens in the world, the glorious Tresco Abbey Gardens, containing 20,000 exotic plants flourishing in the warm Gulf Stream climate of these parts.
Meet your local guide who will take you on a 1-hour walk around the island.
The stunning Tresco Abbey Gardens were created nearly 170 years ago by Augustus Smith around the remains of the 12th century Saint Nicholas Priory. Succeeding generations of the Dorrien-Smith family and their gardeners have collected one of the most fascinating and varied botanical collection of plants from all around the world. These include hotter, drier terraces at the top to suit Australian and South African plants, whilst the bottom ones provide the humidity that favours flora from New Zealand and South America.
Fringing the lush grid of paths criss-crossing the gardens are cacti, date-palms and rarities like lobster claw and shocking-pink drifts of pelargonium. The Valhalla museum reminds the visitor of the shipwrecks that surround the islands and the storms that caused many of them.

Garrison walking tour

Your walking tour on the lovely Island of St Mary’s, the largest of the Isles of Scilly, will take you to The Garrison. This walk, offering lovely views of the other islands, was voted the best coastal walk in Britain in a “Times” survey in 2010.
Depart the quayside in Hugh Town towards the Garrison promontory. The Garrison is deemed to be of national importance “for the complexity and survival of its fortifications, representing successive periods of raiding, hostility and war.” The Garrison dates back to Elizabethan times and goes on through the Civil War years (it became the last Royalist stronghold), and the Spanish Wars of the 18th century.
You will enter The Garrison through the old garrison gateway, and follow the coastal footpath. Your guide will point out the various islands surrounding the Garrison as well as giving you some historical background while passing the various batteries.
Towards the end of the walk, climb the hill up to Star Castle so that you may enjoy sweeping panoramas of the islands. Star Castle is now a hotel, but it was built as an impregnable fortress back in 1593 and gets its name from the shape of its eight-sided central keep, curtain wall and dry moat. Here you will have some refreshments before returning to your ship.

Wildlife boat tour

This memorable excursion takes you on a marine safari boat trip to look for wildlife and see spectacular scenery. Board the rigid inflatable boat (RIB) and speed around the Isles of Scilly in search of grey Atlantic seals and seabird colonies.
On this one hour boat trip, there will be plenty of photo opportunities and your guide will give you a fascinating insight into the natural history of these unique islands.
Although wildlife sightings are frequent, they cannot not be guaranteed.
