The fast-moving and appealing city of Liverpool sprawls along the banks of the River Mersey. This former bastion of industry in England's north-west has found its second wind, thanks especially to the highly successful redevelopment of its docks, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. The city, the Beatles' birthplace, has lots to offer to its visitors. While a walk down the Waterfront from Pier Head to Albert Dock is a major highlight youメll also love the quality of ᅠmuseums such as the Walker Art Gallery and the wealth of architecture in the city. But what will really impress you is the playful and open-minded spirit of its inhabitants, which John Lennon referred to as "positive energy".
6 May 2021 Douglas

Departure 6/5/2021 midday
Douglas is the capital of the Isle of Man, a self-governing island in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland. The Isle of Man is best-known for its gruelling annual TT motorbike race but Douglas itself is a charming traditional seaside resort. The stroll along the busy promenade is very popular, as well as the visit of the Manx Museum, which retraces the island's fascinating Celtic and Viking heritage. It is possible to take a steam train into the mountainous interior, where medieval castles and pretty villages and farms can be observed.

The Isle of Skye is the largest in theInner Hebrides archipelago. Nicknamed the island of the mist, its romantic and magical landscapes have inspired the greatest authors and filmmakers, such as the poet Walter Scott or Virginia Woolf. The almost deserted interior of the island and its coast are a concentration of the most emblematic beauty of the Scottish Highlands: rocky outcrops, basalt columns, hills and wide vales covered in peat bog and heather, lakes, waterfalls, fine sandy coves and cliffs. You may be lucky enough to see asea eagle perched on their summits, watching the waves beneath which otters, sea lions, seals, dolphins and whales may be hiding.

Nestling in the crux of a gorgeous bay, Portree reflects the magnificence of the grandiose Isle of Skye as well as being its main town. 8 May 2021 Stornoway, Hebrides
Arrival 8/5/2021 early morning
Departure 8/5/2021 early evening
Discover Lewis, the largest island of the Hebrides, considered to be the cradle of Gaelic culture. Here, the peat- and heather- covered valleys and lochs stretch on to infinity, and numerous bird colonies have taken up residence in the long, jagged coastlines where. Not far from Stornoway, the island’s main town, built by the Vikings in the 9th century stands one of Scotland’s most prominent prehistoric sites: The Standing Stones of Callanish. Dating back to more than 3,000 years B.C., these imposing stones placed in a cruciform pattern were laid out according to the moon and stars and their main purpose was to keep track of seasonal cycles, as this was essential for farmers at the time.
9 May 2021 Iona, Hebrides
Arrival 9/5/2021 early morning
Departure 9/5/2021 late afternoon
Of all the islands in the Inner Hebrides, Iona is by far the most conducive to contemplation and meditation. And for good reason... it is here that St Columba landed from Ireland in 563 and undertook to establish Christianity in Scotland. Now an abbey, the islandメs true spiritual centre stands where the ancient monastery founded by the Irish missionary was built. Many kings of Scotland, including the legendary Macbeth, are buried in the nearby cemetery. In sunny weather, arriving on the Isle of Iona is a stunningly beautiful experience.

During this tour you will visit the two symbols of the Christian faith in the two Cathedrals which face each other at opposite ends of the aptly-named Hope Street. Both are dedicated to Christ: the Anglican to Christ and the Blessed Virgin and the Catholic to Christ the King.
First visit the Metropolitan Cathedral which is the seat of the Archbishop of Liverpool and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool. The Grade II Metropolitan Cathedral is one of Liverpool's many listed buildings. It is sometimes known locally as “Paddy's Wigwam” or the “Mersey Funnel”. The cathedral's architect was Englishman Frederick Gibberd, the winner of a worldwide design competition. Construction began in 1962, and took five years. Earlier designs for a Catholic cathedral in Liverpool had been proposed in 1853, 1933, and 1953, but none were completed.
Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral is the Church of England cathedral of the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool and is the seat of the Bishop of Liverpool. Visit inside the vast Anglican cathedral, completed in 1978 after some 75 years of building. Built on an overwhelming scale, the red sandstone structure is the largest Anglican cathedral in Britain and the fifth largest in the world. The Cathedral abounds in superlatives : highest Gothic arches, largest organ, heaviest ring of bells but the grandeur is balanced by a great sense of welcome and peace.

A tour along the south-east coast of Isle of Man, taking you to the original capital of the island, Castletown. You will discover the beautiful Rushen Castle and its important role in the history of the Isle of Man, before enjoying the great pleasure of travelling on a traditional old train in this tour through the lush countryside of the Isle of Man.
Departing from Douglas, drive through the south-east of the island, passing over the Fairy Bridge, where it is considered bad luck to pass over the bridge without acknowledging the fairies known to be there. Arrive at the town of Castletown that traces its origins back to 1090 and holds true as one of the oldest towns in the British Isles. Its narrow streets and small fishing cottages prove this ancient past at every corner. Before enjoying some free time to explore this delightful town, visit the fabulous Castle Rushen, which is the best example in the British Isles of a medieval castle. The exact date when it was built is unknown, though is believed to be around 1200. The Castle served as the residence of the last Norse King of Man, who died in 1266. Part of the castle was destroyed in a siege by Robert the Bruce in 1313 but was rebuilt by Sir William de Montacute in around 1344. In the clock room, formerly used as the castle chapel, lies a clock presented by Queen Elizabeth I in 1597, while she held the island in trust pending a dispute. The clock is of simple construction with only one hand, but still keeps very good time.
Following your free time, arrive at Castletown's train station and board your train on the 125 years old Victorian railway. The railway still uses much of the original rolling stock with passengers travelling in carriages pulled by the original engines that first worked the line in the 1890's. From the train, enjoy very impressive views over the inland countryside. Arriving at Douglas train station, transfer by coach back to the quayside and your ship.

This tour takes you across the wonderful landscape of Skye, to visit the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland - Dunvegan Castle - stronghold of the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod. Explore this beautiful Highland estate, with its own gardens, woodland, burns and sea loch.
From Portree, journey west across the island of Skye towards the Dunvegan Estate. The road weaves through the wonderful landscape, around Loch Snizort and past Loch Greshornish before arriving at the famous Dunvegan Castle. Stronghold of the Chiefs of the Clan MacLeod for nearly 800 years, it still remains their home, and therefore bares the title of the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland.
The original purpose of the Castle was to keep people out - it was only in 1933 that it was opened to the public for the first time. Inside the Castle itself, there are many treasures to discover, some with quirky tales to tell: a 17th century four-pint drinking horn - used as a proof of manhood by each male heir, who must successfully drain it, once filled with Claret; the “fairy flag” of Dunvegan is said to possess miraculous powers for members of the clan; and a lock of hair preserved in a locket, clipped from Bonnie Prince Charlie's head by Flora MacDonald as a keepsake.
The Castle Gardens were originally laid out in the 18th century and offer paths through woodland glades, shimmering pools and burns fed by cascading waterfalls. Views are amongst the finest in Scotland, with Loch Dunegan and the Black Cuillins as a back-drop. Abundant flora and fauna, including seals in the loch, otters, red deer, a multitude of sea birds, and eagles are also commonly spotted - especially the Golden Eagle, and more recently, the rare, white-tailed Sea Eagle.
On leaving Dunvegan Estate, you will return via the scenic southern route which follows the coast, past more sea lochs, and eventually arrive at your ship at Portree.

This tour takes you to the stunningly beautiful Trotternish peninsula, to the north of the Isle of Skye, giving you a taste of the rugged landscape of this spectacular island.
From Portree, follow the coast of the hilly Trotternish peninsula, passing through several tiny villages so typical of this area. After passing the horse-shoe bay of Uig, take a glimpse of what life was like on Skye a century ago, through a visit to the museum of island life - consisting of a group of small, thatched cottages which depict rural life for crofters and farmers of the past; one cottage is replete with furniture of the period.
A short walk from the museum is the grave of one of Scotland’s most famous heroines - Flora McDonald – who rescued Bonnie Prince Charlie and took him “over the sea to Skye”, as the song so famously tells, so he could escape the Hanovarian government.
Continuing on your coastal route, you will reach the exposed northern tip of the island, where you are likely to find sheep and cattle along the road, as they freely roam the land. Then continue round to the eastern coast of the peninsula, where the scenery becomes much more mountainous and pass the dramatic mountain formation - The Quiraing – on your way to Kilt Rock where a stop is made to admire the beautiful views over to the mainland.
On the last leg of your journey, the route takes you past scenic inland lochs and rivers, completing this superb panoramic tour which gives you a real insight into the landscape of Scotland – the coast, the mountains and the lochs. Finally, return to Portree where you are dropped off at Somerled Square. A 10 to 15 minute-walk is then required to join the tender.

This tour takes you around the stunningly beautiful Isle of Lewis. It is a wild, windy and totally unspoilt part of Scotland, whose landscapes range from brilliant blue seas and golden sands to heather-backed mountains. The island is the heartland of Gaelic culture with long-standing traditions and monuments, where people's lives are still dominated by traditional pursuits like crofting, fishing and weaving. You will visit some of the most important prehistoric sites in Scotland, as well as legacies of the earlier people.
Departing from Stornoway, drive across central Lewis. Then, head towards the stunning west coast and the village of Callanish, site of the island's most dramatic prehistoric ruins - the Callanish Standing Stones - rated as the most important in Britain after Stonehenge. These towering stones date from 3000 BC and are laid out in the form of a cross with a circle in the centre - they were aligned with the moon and the stars to provide the seasonal cycle on which the early Neolithic farmers were so dependent.
Continue along the beautiful Atlantic coastal road and drive northward to Arnol, where you find the remains of a few abandoned blackhouses - built as a combined byre, barn and home in the tradition of ancient “long-houses”, the black house was where folk lived together with their animals. One of them has been entirely restored into the Black House Museum. It possesses thick walls and a thatched roof and is complete with homely furnishings and a welcoming, peat-burning fire.
From Arnol the tour finally turns inland again and cross the typical peat moors of Lewis, before reaching your ship at Stornoway.

This tour takes you through the spectacular scenery of Lewis, passing stunning beaches, wild, dramatic coastlines and majestic cliffs to the remote west of Bernera Island. You will discover the island's ancient heritage with a visit to a restored Iron Age house, and time to relax at a beautiful beach.
Starting out from Stornoway, cross the Isle of Lewis to its dramatic west coast, a landscape created by the battering of Atlantic waves and fierce autumn gales. Your journey will take you to the Island of Great Bernera, which is joined to the main island by a narrow bridge. The rocky island is dotted with lochans, fringed by a few small lobster-fishing settlements and owned by the Queen's former herald.
Your destination is the deserted village of Bostadh in the north of the island. In 1992 gale-force winds revealed an Iron Age settlement, perched above a precious little bay of golden sand. One of the ancient dwellings has now been completely restored.
Inside in the warm gloom, and with the distinctive aroma from the real peat fire, a local guide describes the way of life of the ancient folk who lived here.
Afterwards, there is an opportunity to explore the small graveyard nearby and go for a stroll on the wide beach of fine white sand, with fabulous views out to the turquoise-blue Atlantic.
On your return to the ship at Stornoway, enjoy fine views of Carloway Broch to the north.

The Hebrides are famed all over the world for their precious, hand woven fabrics. This unique tour gives you the opportunity to experience the traditional craft. At Ardalanish Farm & Mill you shall gain an insight into the making of this popular cloth, all the way from sheep to shop.
From Fionnphort, you will embark your transfer vehicle for the short distance to the typical southern Mull village of Bunessan. From here, you will head along a narrow and more deserted route towards the remote and spectacularly scenic Ardalanish Bay.
Here you will visit the Isle of Mull Weavers at Ardalanish Farm. Upon arrival, your group will be divided up into smaller groups (depending on numbers) to enjoy the different areas and outbuildings of the farm. In the course of a guided tour of the mill you can admire the old, traditional, Victorian power looms and see how this wonderful, coarse fabric is woven, inch by inch. Transferring to other parts of the farm, enjoy a meet-and-greet with the purveyors of the famed Hebridean wool, the black Hebridean sheep. There is also the chance for a photo-shoot with the small herd of shaggy, but majestic Highland Cattle, a popular postcard motif all across Scotland.
Finally, you shall be treated to island hospitality of tea or coffee and biscuits, followed by free time to stroll to the nearby beach, enjoy the beautiful island scenery or simply browse in the upscale shop for that special souvenir that can last for generations.

Experience Iona, a place steeped in myths and legends like no other. This tiny island has been seen as the cradle of Scottish Christianity since St Columba landed here in the year 563, turning it into one of the most sacred religious sites in Europe. But even long before that time, Iona has been a sacred place for Druids, and today the island draws Christians, Pagans and Druids alike as a site of immense spiritual power.
Your ship’s tender will bring you ashore in Iona, an island whose importance to Christianity is out of all proportion to its size. From here, the Irish monk Columba set out to convert almost the whole of pagan Scotland and much of northern England. This walking tour will take you around the different places and explore its history.
Your walk will sart in Baile Mhor, a picturesque village with a row of cottages facing the sea. From here, you walk to the ruins of the Augustinian Nunnery, on the way passing the 15th-century Maclean’s Cross. The highlight of your tour is the Iona Abbey, dating from around 1200. The oldest part is the restored St Oran’s Chapel, and surrounding the chapel is the Reilig Odrhain, the sacred burial ground said to contain the graves of 48 Scottish kings. Beside the Road of the Dead stands the 8th-century St Martin’s Cross, the finest of Iona’s Celtic high crosses and remarkably complete, with serpent-and-boss decoration on one side and holy figures on the other.
To the left of the main entrance is St Columba’s Shrine, which marks the site of the saint’s tomb. From Torr an aba, a small grassy knoll, you will gain a view of the whole monastic institution and complex, before entering the Abbey with its marble effigies.
After your visit, you will return to the pier at Baile Mhor.

Departing from the pier in Belfast, you will travel inland through the Northern Counties of Down and Antrim passing en route Ballymoney and Ballymena, to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Giants’ Causeway.
For centuries, visitors have marvelled at its majesty and mystery. The unique rock formations have, for millions of years, stood as a natural rampart against the unbridled ferocity of the Atlantic storms and the rugged symmetry of the columns never fail to intrigue and inspire. To stroll the Giants Causeway is to voyage back in time. Your imagination will travel along stepping stones that lead to either the creative turbulence of a bygone volcanic age or into the myths and legends of the past.
The summer of 2012 marked the opening of the new Visitor Centre at the Giant’s Causeway. This interpretative centre allows you to decide for yourself which explanation of how the causeway’s 40,000 basalt stones were formed is most likely (or simply most interesting!). Stories about the area’s rich mythology, history, geology, flora and fauna will paint the Causeway in your mind’s eye before you make your way to the stones themselves, by boarding the “Causeway Coaster” minibus, should you prefer not to walk.

Belfast is a city of industry and elegance with a rich and varied past. Its origins go back to an ancient fort controlling the ford across the River Lagan which flows through the city. The panoramic tour of the city will introduce you to the many varied features of Northern Ireland's largest city. Built with 19th century industrial money, many fine buildings from this era grace the city still and are reminders of its prosperous past. You will drive past the Grand Opera House and the Albert Memorial before passing Queen's University, the Botanic Gardens and Belfast City Hall - an impressive building with a 91 metres (300 feet) long façade of Portland stone, which dominates Donegall Square. A stop here will allow you photograph what is perhaps the most noteworthy of the statues in the grounds. It is the marble figure of “Thane” on a granite pedestal, sculpted by Sir Thomas Brock and commemorating the sinking in 1912 of the R.M.S. Titanic, the ill-fated Belfast built liner.
Next, you will visit the newly constructed Titanic Belfast. Opened in April 2012, the new signature building telling the story of Titanic contains nine galleries containing a variety of interpretative materials and media including film and video, audio, archival materials and scale models; a high point will be a ride through the Titanic under construction. The adventure begins the moment you walk through the door and into the building's giant atrium surrounded by the four-high impact “hull” shaped sections which house the experience. As you wander up through Titanic Belfast, you will experience a thrilling ride through the reconstruction of the shipyards and the Titanic under construction. The stories of passengers, crew and the heroes of the day will be told in an exciting and modern way. At the conclusion, you can visit the wreck at her resting place on the floor of the North Atlantic.
After the visit, you will re-board your coach for the return drive to the port and your awaiting ship.

From the pier, head for the heart of the Irish capital. You will pass in front of the Customs House, completed in 1791 and designed by the architect James Gandon who was also responsible for some of Dublin’s loveliest buildings. Crossing the river Liffey to Dublin’s south side, the Bank of Ireland stands proudly, a 18th-century building which housed the Irish Parliament until its abolition as a result of the Union Act in 1800. On the opposite side, is the impressive gateway to Trinity College, the University of Dublin founded in 1592 at the instigation of Queen Elizabeth I.
A first stop is made to visit Christ Church Cathedral, one of Dublin’s most famous monuments. Dating back to 1038, it is the country’s oldest and most important cathedral. The cathedral has resisted the trials and tribulations of time and history. The building underwent extensive restoration work in the Victorian era and is an active religious centre.
Next, discover Dublin Castle. The castle played an important role from the Middle Ages up until 1922 as it was the residence of representatives of the British monarchy. It has survived numerous rebellions during its history, such as the 1916 uprising, and is today the theatre of official ceremonies such as the investiture of the President of the Republic. It was here that the 1998 peace agreements with Northern Ireland were signed.
After the visit, reboard your coach for the return journey to the pier and your ship.

Dublin
After disembarkation procedures are completed, you will be greeted at the port by our local English-speaking representative.
Departing from the pier, you will travel directly to the City Centre where you will pass the customs house, located on the north bank River Liffey. Crossing the River Liffey to Dublin’s south side, you will soon pass the old parliament house (now the bank of Ireland) and Trinity College. Founded in 1592 by Queen Elizabeth 1, it is Ireland’s oldest college. Located in its Library is the world-famous Book of Kells, a hand illuminated manuscript of the Gospels. A stop will be made here to visit Trinity College and view the Book of Kells.
Your tour of the city will continue passing the Georgian squares of Merrion and Fitzwilliam, National Gallery of Ireland, Government Buildings and St. Stephen’s Green. You will pass Dublin Castle, City Hall and Christchurch Cathedral en route to have a photostop at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Founded in 1190, St. Patrick’s is perhaps best known for its association with Jonathan Swift, who was Dean here from 1713 to 1745. Time will be permitted to photograph the exterior of the building.
